The Wiper Democratic Movement has announced plans to take disciplinary measures against its Members of Parliament who voted ‘YES’ to the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
In a clear statement, the party highlighted that its legislators were instructed to vote against the bill. Those who disobeyed this directive are now set to face consequences.
The party reiterated its firm stance, emphasizing that no exceptions would be made once the disciplinary process begins.
Among those facing disciplinary action is Dadaab MP Farah Maalim, who recently voted in favor of the Finance Bill, defying the party’s instructions.
Wiper stated that the MPs who supported the bill betrayed Kenyans and assured that stern measures would be taken against them.
“All our MPs were instructed to reject the Finance Bill 2024, and that is on record. There were no exemptions,” read a statement from Wiper Party.
“Choices have consequences, not just for the two, but for all who betrayed Kenyans.”
The Azimio principal also responded after the Finance Bill passed the second reading, commending the 115 members of parliament who voted against the bill.
