Ukraine Prime Minister: Ksh. 88 trillion is needed for the Ukraine recovery plan.

Denys Shmygal stated that Ukraine’s recovery plan had three phases: a first phase that was focused on addressing issues that affected people’s daily lives, such as water supply, and was still ongoing; a second phase that was intended to transform the nation over a longer period of time; and a third phase that would begin as soon as fighting ceased.

Denys Shmygal also stated that the invasion by Russia had directly caused over $100 billion in damage to Ukrainian infrastructure.

“Today, the direct infrastructure losses of Ukraine stand at over $100 billion,” he said. “Who will pay for the renewal plan, which is already being valued at $750 billion?”

Shmygal continued, “According to the Ukrainian government, assets seized from Russian oligarchs should serve as a major source of money for the recovery plan.”
