It has been found that eating less can actually make you younger by causing your aging process to proceed 2-3% more slowly.
Researchers at Columbia University in New York, who were supported by the US National Institute on Aging, claim that cutting back on calories can be just as beneficial as giving up smoking at lowering the risk of dying young.
“The main take-home of our study is that it is possible to slow the pace of biological ageing and that it may be possible to achieve that slowing through modification of lifestyle and behaviour,” explains Dan Belsky, an assistant professor of epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
Researchers claim that eating less, sleeping , and exercising regularly are all good for you and can slow down your ageing at the cellular level. Unfortunately, many people are unaware of these benefits.
