Ruto Breaks His Silence Hours After Being Denied An Opportunity To Address Kenyans At Uhuru Gardens During Madaraka Day Celebrations.

Deputy President during Madaraka Day Celebration on June 1,2022.

The second in command   DP Ruto has finally broken his silence, only hours after President Uhuru denied him the opportunity to speak to Kenyans at Uhuru Gardens during the Madaraka Day celebrations, breaching protocol.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who presided over his most recent national event, did not acknowledge DP Ruto while greeting the dignitaries in attendance.

President Kenyatta greeted the visiting President of Sierra Leone, then the Speakers of the House of Representatives, and finally the Chief Justice.

He went on to ignore inviting his Deputy, Dr William Ruto to speak to the audience.

DP Ruto, however, has broken his quiet barely hours after the Madaraka celebration ended on his official social media pages.

In the race for state house, Deputy President is a major opponent of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

DP Ruto said that Kenyans should select a path of progress and prosperity, which appears to be a direct reference to the approaching general elections.

“Today we celebrate 59 years of Madaraka but we must not forget that we are responsible for the next years ahead, we are the makers of this nation, let us choose a path of progress, unity and prosperity,” Ruto tweeted.
