The UEFA Champions League final began with a delayed starting at the Stade de France between Real Madrid and Liverpool at 22.36 p.m. Kenyan time.

For security considerations, the game was delayed by more than a half-hour because Liverpool fans were stranded outside the stadium and unable to enter through the few open entrances.
