1) Women leaders seek higher-ranking political positions.
Three of the four cleared presidential candidates are running with a female running mate.
- Martha Karua is deputising Raila Odinga .
- Justina Wambui is deputising Gorge Wajackoya.
- Ruth Mutua, on the other hand, was name as David Waihiga’s running mate.
Other women are running for governor seat across the country.
Kirinyaga County’s Ann Waiguru and Purity Ngirici, Kitui County’s Charity Ngilu, Homa Bay County’s Gladys Wanga, Kilifi County’s Aisha Jumwa ,Agnes Kagure running as independent candidate are among them.
Race to state House:
2) In other news, according to Infotrak, Raila’s popularity in Kenya has improved since Martha Karua was named as his running mate.
According to an Infotrak poll released yesterday, Raila has 42 percent support and Ruto has 38 percent.
Mombasa County:
3) Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s lawyers are working nonstop to ensure that their client is on the ballot for the August 9 elections.
Sonko has filed a case that has yet to be resolved. He can utilize this to inform IEBC that he has a pending case that can be cleared under the law.
