Isaura Matsinhe, 36, had been out with friends on Saturday night drinking wine before switching to potent cocktails.

She was stopped after a police cruiser in Marchwiel, close to Wrexham, had to swerve out of the way because she almost hit it with her Skoda.

She attempted to give officers a CD case from her glove box when she was asked for her license.

Suzanne Cartwright, the prosecutor, admitting to having spent the night in the bar despite having glazed eyes.

She gave a breath sample with 199 micrograms, which is more than five times the 35 microgram limit for safe driving.

According to testimony given to Wrexham magistrates, Matsinhe was “horrified and ashamed” of her behavior.

In her defense, Catherine Jagger claimed that jumping into the car was nothing less than “a moment of craziness.”
