Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has called on Kenyans to be more proactive in pursuing international job opportunities.

Nyoro highlighted the efforts of President Ruto’s administration in securing employment prospects abroad but expressed concern over the lack of applications from Kenyan citizens.

The MP cited a recent example where the Ministry of Health advertised 2,000 nursing positions in foreign countries, offering a monthly salary of KSh 200,000 (approximately $1,400 USD).

Despite the attractive compensation, only about 500 individuals applied, leaving a significant number of positions unfilled.

“Recently, our Ministry advertised 2,000 nursing positions abroad with a salary of KSh 200,000, but only around 500 people applied. The rest missed out. When you hear about job openings, don’t ignore them,” Nyoro said.

Nyoro emphasized the importance of staying alert to such opportunities, stating, “With all the efforts President Ruto is making to create jobs, please take advantage of these opportunities.”

He urged Kenyans not to overlook job openings when they are announced and to actively engage with the application process.

The MP’s comments underscore a broader initiative by the Kenyan government to address unemployment by facilitating international job placements.
