What followed was a brutal assault, with the motorist relentlessly beating the officer until he was left injured in a ditch. Fortunately, members of the public intervened, rescuing the officer and transporting him to a nearby health facility.
However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to Mama Lucy Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the primary suspect in the assault remains at large, evading authorities, while one accomplice has been apprehended and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
