A man in Kiegoi village, Igembe South, Meru County, is making headlines after sitting on the landing skids of CS Peter Munya’s helicopter as it lifted off.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the evening, during CS Munya’s tour in Meru County.
During his visit to Igembe South in Meru County, he declared a countrywide fee waiver for miraa exports.
“I have waived all license fees for the purpose of exporting Miraa at the national level,” Cs Munya said.
The Meru man, whose identity has yet to be established, was recorded in a video sitting with one of his feet hanging out from the skids as the helicopter hovered barely above the ground before returning to the landing place.
In the video, he can be seen waving to a crowd assembled to cheer him on.
It wasn’t all fun and games, though.
Soon after he leapt off and attempted to leave, armed security officials pounced on him.
It is unclear whether the individual was detained because the police have yet to comment on the matter.
