  • Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha appoints Mike Kuria as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Kuria is set to replace Prof. Mwenda Ntarangwi whose contract ends on September 4, 2022.

The governor had earlier transferred Mr Igambi from the Finance to the Food and Agriculture docket as acting CEC.

  • The price of premium maize brands , Amaize and Hostess to remain at Sh230 while that of other brands like Jogoo, Pembe, Ajab and Soko drop to Sh100 under subsidy.
  • Recent reduction in Kenya Power electricity tariffs will result in a drop in revenues by Shs 26.3 billion every year. Government expects to provide financial support to the company in next two years. IMF says future reduction in tariffs should be avoided.
