Kisii County Governor Simba Arati has sent a strong message to President William Ruto’s regime after information about an attempted arrest of Fred Matiang’i was leaked.
Governor Simba Arati described how he was driving from Nairobi to Kisii but had to turn around when he heard what was going on in Karen at Matiang’i’s home.
He has informed Ruto’s government to understand that Matiang’i was working under the mandate of his boss who is Uhuru Kenyatta hence the need to have a discussion if at all there is an issue.
According to Arati, Ruto’s government should also explain to Kenyans why police officers stormed Matiang’i’s home so that everyone is on the same page.
“I haven’t spoken to him but I have gotten the news when I had traveled passed Suswa heading to Kisii. So I have decided to come back since am a governor and I must know about the welfare of those that I lead. I and Kenyans need to be told where the problem is. Honorable Matiang’i had his boss whom he was working under hence a solution must be arrived at. We are hoping that the government proper details of why police officers were here,” said governor Simba Arati.
