- Gachagua states Mt Kenya residents will hold Ruto, not Raila, responsible if problems arise.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has voiced concerns over President William Ruto’s recent agreement with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
In a radio interview on August 5, Gachagua emphasized that President Ruto would be held accountable if Odinga’s inclusion in the government leads to issues.
“Even if Raila comes and becomes a menace to us, we cannot question him because he did not bring himself to government,” Gachagua stated.
He further added, “In the event anything bad happens from Raila coming into government and the people of Mt Kenya are not happy, we will question President William Ruto because he is the one who has brought Raila in.”
Gachagua revealed that Ruto had explained his reasons for collaborating with Odinga and assured him that the ODM leader would not “cause havoc” in the Kenya Kwanza administration.
However, Gachagua maintained that if the Mt Kenya populace becomes dissatisfied with the outcomes of this collaboration, they will seek answers from President Ruto.
