Tourists Among Four Dead in Fatal Narok Collision; Primary School Pupils Injured in Separate Crash

A tragic road accident in Narok County has resulted in four fatalities, as confirmed by National Police Service spokesperson Resila Atieno.

The incident occurred at Katakala area on Monday afternoon when a Toyota Land Cruiser collided with a Shackman lorry around 3:10 pm.

Three occupants of the Land Cruiser died instantly at the scene, while the fourth victim succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.

Atieno stated that traffic police promptly responded to the accident site and were in the process of clearing the scene.

“Traffic police in the area were able to quickly rush to the scene,” said National Police Service (NPS) spokesperson Resila Atieno.

In a separate incident on the same day, a school bus carrying primary school pupils was involved in an accident at Sachangwan along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.

The crash occurred around 1:00 pm when a tow truck reportedly lost control and collided with the school bus.

Out of the 30 individuals involved in this accident, 26 were pupils returning to Nairobi after participating in the National Music Festivals Competition at Moi Girls High School.

The injured were taken to Molo Sub-County Hospital and Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment.

Three teachers and a cook were also part of the group.

Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo confirmed that following the initial collision, the school bus hit two other private vehicles.

Fortunately, the occupants of these vehicles escaped unharmed.
