Gachagua and Martha Karua squared off in the debate on Tuesday night at Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
This debate was moderated by James Smart of NTV and Sophia Wanuna of KTN News.
The Kenya Kwanza flag bearer thanked Gachagua on social media, saying he had shown Kenyans that he was qualified to handle the country’s second office come August 9,2022.
“Congratulations Rigathi Gachagua my very able running mate. Kenyans are confident that in you we have a seasoned,passionate and focused leader to help us steer kenya kwanza to victory and the nation to prosperity. We thank almighty God na ubarikiwe saaan. Never mind the media.” DP Ruto tweeted
In other comments about Tuesday’s debate, Senator Moses Wetang’ula lambasted the moderators, saying they spent too much time on past issues and forgot about the present.
“Good morning Moderators. We watched the Rigathi/Karua interview. You spent all the time on the past and forgot that we have the present and future that are equally if not even more important and ought to be our focus!! What is your true AGENDA?” Senetor Moses Wetang’ula wrote on Twitter
Now, everyone’s attention is focused on Kenya Kwanza candidate DP Ruto and Azimio One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga as Kenyans wait for the presidential debate on July 26,2022.
Kenyans are urged to maintain peace before, during, and after the August 9 elections.
