In a video seen by Topnews.co.ke, Wanjigi’s wife can be heard making a desperate plea to the officers, repeatedly asking, “Don’t shoot me, don’t shoot me in my house.”

Willis Otieno, Wanjigi’s lawyer, reported that the family was awoken at 6 a.m. by masked men with assault rifles who forcibly entered several rooms.
Otieno criticized the police for the early morning raid, questioning the need for a second search after a similar operation had already been conducted the previous night.
“The same police who had searched all night returned at 6 a.m. for what they claimed was a new search,” Otieno remarked.
The acting Inspector General of Police, Gilbert Masengeli, issued a directive on Thursday for to surrender to police.
Masengeli reported that police stopped a car near the businessman’s residence and confiscated various items from the vehicle.
Among the seized objects were four containers of tear gas and police communication devices.
