Wamalwa congratulated his opponent, DAP-K candidate George Natembeya, who was said to have won the election.
Hon.Chris Wamalwa, the outgoing Kiminini MP, has conceded defeat in his bid to become the next Governor of Trans Nzoia.
Wamalwa thanked his opponent, Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) candidate George Natembeya, for purportedly winning the contest in a social media post on Thursday evening.
Wamalwa’s concession speech, however, occurred before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission announced the winner (IEBC).
He thanked his followers and the Ford-Kenya party for their support, and wished Natembeya well in his new post.
“The Elections are now over and the results are out. I have not been successful in my quest to be the second Governor of our great County. I thank the Almighty God, all my supporters, from both far and near, for their unyielding support. Receive my eternal gratitude,” he posted.
“I thank the great people of Kiminini Constituency for giving me the opportunity to be their MP for two terms.
I thank my Party- Ford Kenya for it’s support.
My heartfelt gratitude to the party supporters and volunteers who have worked so hard in this campaign.” He continued.
