An autopsy has revealed that Mombasa taxi driver Victoria Mumbua Muloki was the victim of a vicious assault before she was strangled to death.
The post-mortem, led by Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, confirmed that Mumbua was struck several times with a blunt object before her life was tragically ended by strangulation.
“The injuries point to a struggle, demonstrating the brutal and intentional nature of the attack,” Dr. Oduor remarked. Defensive wounds on Mumbua’s arms further indicated that she fought back in an attempt to protect herself from the assailant.
As the investigation continues, further tests are being conducted on samples taken during the autopsy.
Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from multiple locations to gather more leads and establish a connection between the suspect and the crime scenes.
The suspect, who is believed to be involved in a series of violent crimes, has led detectives to several areas where five stolen vehicles were recovered.
These vehicles are linked to other crimes, suggesting a broader pattern of criminal activity.
The suspect’s history includes a previous involvement in the 2014 murder of another taxi driver, George Njuguna. He now faces multiple charges, including murder and robbery with violence.
Police reports reveal that on September 27, the suspect requested a ride from Mumbua in Mombasa.
During the journey, he attacked her, tied her up in the back of her car, and continued driving towards Nairobi.
Near Kibwezi, he strangled her before disposing of her body in a remote area in Lari, Kiambu County.
The suspect was later arrested in Nakuru while driving the stolen vehicle.
