A Joyous Prelude to Christmas: Uhuru Kenyatta’s Early Celebrations with the Less Fortunate

In a heartwarming gesture, Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family initiated the Christmas season by spreading happiness among children in various homes. Personally interacting with the youngsters and bestowing early Christmas gifts, Uhuru highlighted the importance of sharing virtues during this festive period.

In an official statement, Uhuru expressed, “Once again Christmas is here; a time to remember and apply our shared values of compassion, sharing, and communion. We share this holiday with all people of all persuasions because what we celebrate are cherished universal human impulses.”

The selected children’s homes that received the festive visit included Gatundu Children’s Home, Mama Ngina Children’s Home, Mama Fatuma Children’s Home, St Dorcas Educational Centre, and Mary Faith Rescue Centre.

Prior to this, Uhuru demonstrated his commitment to giving by presenting a significant Sh1 million Christmas donation to the faithful at a church in Ruiru, Kiambu County. Although physically absent at the JCM Church, Uhuru connected with the congregation through a call placed on the loudspeaker.

Addressing the worshipers, the retired president shared, “I could not abandon our people, and whatever [the pastor] is doing, I will top him up. I have told him I will extend Sh1 million so that he can buy unga for more people. I wish you happy holidays to you all and your families, and may God solve the problems we are going through,” eliciting cheers from the attendees.

Uhuru also pledged to allocate time for worship at the church in the upcoming year, underscoring his ongoing commitment to communal well-being.
