Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has claimed that Raila Odinga was displeased with President William Ruto’s decision to appoint ODM members to his Cabinet.

Speaking at the African Inland Church Milimani during a requiem mass for Mbaitu FM journalist Mercy Mawia Mwangi, Kalonzo revealed that Raila had asked Ruto not to announce his Cabinet while he was away, but Ruto went ahead and included ODM officials regardless.

Kalonzo also stated that he had warned Raila against expecting a national dialogue or convention, explaining that such a convention would not occur because Ruto had already achieved his objectives by nominating ODM officials under the guise of forming a government of national unity.

The Wiper leader further claimed that the Kenya Kwanza government had recruited ODM members without any consultation.

He added that those nominated by Ruto were eager to join the Kenya Kwanza government without hesitation or proper negotiation with the coalition.

“What has come clearly from the briefing was that the four members at the time were very keen to join Ruto’s administration without even a properly negotiated coalition agreement. Ni kama mtu akona hamu kuolewa,” Kalonzo said.

“So the rest of us agree that Ruto snookered Raila, who was very unhappy. He was actually calling him to tell him not to announce the Cabinet while he was away. But that is now water under the bridge,” Kalonzo remarked.
