Responding to criticism from some leaders, Gachagua stated, “I know my job, and an MP or a CS cannot supervise a Deputy President. If you aspire to this position, seek it from President William Ruto when the time comes. For now, focus on your own duties and let me handle mine.”

Gachagua expressed dismay at being lectured on loyalty by individuals who were not supportive of President Ruto during challenging times.

“Today, some who were absent during our struggles are questioning our loyalty to the President,” he noted.

During his visit to Kirinyaga, Gachagua engaged with residents in Kagio town, highlighting the importance of people-centered leadership through direct interaction with citizens.

He was accompanied by several elected leaders from various parts of the country.

The Deputy President urged his critics to cease creating confusion within the government and instead contribute to fulfilling the President’s campaign promises.

“To our leaders, please let us be united and not fall to propaganda. Let us do our jobs. Cabinet Secretaries should also focus on their work,” he advised.

Gachagua emphasized the non-negotiable nature of regional unity, acknowledging differences in opinion among leaders but highlighting the united voice of the residents.

He called on Parliamentarians to concentrate on their legislative duties and serve Kenyans diligently.

Declaring his unwavering commitment, Gachagua stated, “I’m moved by conviction. I believe it is my duty as the leader of this region to unite the people of the mountain behind our President, and no amount of noise can distract me.”

He encouraged residents and leaders to ignore critics and remain focused on their shared goals.

“We are not distracted; we are focused. We know where we have come from, where we are, and where we are going,” he concluded.
