The family of the late renowned Reggae MC and radio host Njambi Koikai is grappling with a double tragedy following the death of her father, Daniel Koikai, on the very day she was to be buried.
A family source, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that Daniel Koikai was found deceased at his home on Friday morning.
This unfortunate discovery coincided with the day Njambi was to be laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery.
Just a day earlier, Mr. Koikai had attended Njambi’s funeral service held at the Nairobi Chapel, where he expressed his sorrow over her sudden and unexpected demise.
In his eulogy, he reflected on her influential personality and the large following she garnered.
“Dear Njambi, my daughter, the time has come for me to atone for my acts of omission or commission on your final journey from this world. The large following you were able to amass was a testament to your ability as an influential personality,” he stated.
Njambi’s untimely death ended her promising career, which had extended into the political realm.
She had run for the Dagoretti South parliamentary seat in the 2022 elections, achieving an impressive fourth place.
