Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering unity among leaders in the Mt Kenya region, emphasizing that such solidarity is vital for the area’s development.
Speaking at a church service in Buuri constituency, Meru, Gachagua highlighted that a united front among leaders would eliminate unnecessary conflicts and promote collaborative efforts towards progress.
Gachagua rejected accusations from some quarters that his unity campaign would lead to regional isolation and exclusion from government development projects.
“Recently, I heard a leader saying that the push for regional unity will make the region secluded from development, that is retrogressive politics,” he stated.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress of his unity efforts, Gachagua noted, “I’m happy that my call for unity is taking shape, and I will not give up. We had counties that had issues, but now they are working together in unity.”
He also urged the community to support President William Ruto’s administration.

Gachagua was accompanied by several prominent leaders, including Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu, and host MP Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri).
Other attendees included MPs from various constituencies, such as Moses Kirima (Imenti Central), Abdulrahim Dawood (Imenti North), Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East), and many more from across the region.
