Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has dismissed allegations that he plans to step down from his government position.

On Friday, Kuria issued a statement addressing the rumors, which he identified as fake news propagated by a counterfeit X account.

In his clarification, CS Kuria urged Kenyans to disregard these rumors and report any accounts spreading such misinformation.

“It has come to my attention that a fake X account has been spreading incorrect information and opinions falsely attributed to me. Please be aware that this account is not mine,” Kuria stated.

He further encouraged the public to report, unfollow, and block the fake account.

“Thank you for your support and vigilance! Let’s put an end to misinformation together,” he added.

The fake post claimed that CS Kuria threatened to resign due to President Ruto allegedly sidelining Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in favor of politicians allied with opposition parties.

The post falsely attributed statements to Kuria, suggesting he would resign to support Rigathi Gachagua and run for the Gatundu South Member of Parliament position in the 2027 General Election.

These allegations arise amidst a growing political supremacy battle in the Mt Kenya region, which has seen politicians aligning themselves on different sides of the issue.

The rumors also follow CS Kuria’s absence from the Mt Kenya leaders’ caucus meeting, dubbed Limuru 3, held last week and attended by several regional politicians.
