  • Faith, who was eight months pregnant, was found dead in her rented room in Pilot Estate, Thika, sparking distress calls for justice from her grieving family.

Thika police have apprehended David Kioko, a 25-year-old student from Tom Mboya University, as the primary suspect in the tragic murder case of his girlfriend, 19-year-old Faith Musembi.

The victim, a first-year student at Mt. Kenya University, was discovered lifeless by her father in her rented accommodation in Pilot Estate, Thika.

Initial investigations suggested that Faith was murdered over alleged infidelity, leading to Kioko’s arrest. Both the suspect and the victim hailed from Machakos County, intensifying the shockwaves rippling through the community.

Confirming the arrest, Thika Police boss Lawrence Muchangi assured that thorough investigations were underway.

“We have the main suspect in custody and are conducting thorough investigations. The DCIO is on that matter and the suspect will be produced in court soon,” stated Muchangi.

The devastating discovery has plunged Faith’s family into profound grief, prompting urgent calls for justice.

Distressed by the loss of their daughter and unborn grandchild, Faith’s parents are demanding swift legal action against the perpetrator.

“We want the authorities to ensure that the person responsible for this heinous act is punished to the fullest extent of the law,” expressed Boniface Musembi, Faith’s father.

An autopsy conducted at Thika General Kago Funeral Home revealed that Faith succumbed to excessive bleeding, with the report indicating bleeding in the uterus caused by abruptio placenta—a condition where the placenta detaches prematurely, leading to fatal hemorrhage.
