In a tragic incident near the Mundika area in Busia County, a head-on collision between a Mombasa-bound Tahmeed bus and a tanker has led to a significant loss of life and injuries.

Eyewitnesses recount that the collision caused the tanker to erupt in flames, compounding the severity of the accident.

Initial reports suggest that a large number of passengers aboard the bus may have tragically lost their lives.

Disturbing videos circulating online depict the grim aftermath of the collision, with charred bodies strewn across the scene and thick smoke billowing from the engulfed tanker.

Rescue teams deployed to the area worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames and salvage any survivors.

The Motorists Association of Kenya swiftly condemned the tragic incident, emphasizing the urgent need for preventive measures to avert such disasters in the future.

“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic crash explosion involving travelers after an oil tanker and a Mombasa-bound bus head-on collision at Mundika, Busia. Rescue efforts are underway,” said a representative.

Expressing profound sorrow, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected by the accident.
