Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024, affecting seven counties, including specific regions in Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Kakamega, Kisumu, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Kilifi.
According to Kenya Power, the listed areas are slated for power interruptions as part of essential network maintenance on the specified date.
“In preparation for scheduled maintenance, Kenya Power has outlined regions across seven counties to experience power interruptions tomorrow, February 20, 2024. The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power wrote on their official account.
In Nairobi, neighborhoods like Umoja 2 SDA, Umoja Zone 8, Davana Hotel, Salute Greenpark, and adjacent areas will experience power blackouts between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Residents in Uasin Gishu, including Kapchumba secondary and primary schools, Jomba Baharini Police Post, and nearby customers, will face power disruptions from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Other affected areas in Uasin Gishu, such as Mwamba, Majengo, Turbo, NYS, Besiobor, Tapsagoi, Cheplaskei, Kosachei, and neighboring customers, will experience power outages from 9:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Similarly, parts of Kakamega County, including Harambe Market, Khalaba Bridge, Musamba, Panyako, sections of Mayoni, Soweto, Mukheya, Namasanda, Wanchi, and nearby customers, will undergo power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Kisumu, affected areas like Chemelil Factory, Gul Primary School, Potopoto, Simba Excel/Shamji Haji, Lwala, Chemutia, and adjacent regions will experience blackouts.
Nyeri residents in areas like Mathaithi kwa Mugambi, Wariruta, Karindundu, Kiangogoyo, Kiahiti, Muchohi, Kirimara High School, Kirimara Village, Ndima-ini Market, Mutoi, Kahuti-ini, and others will be affected.
Moreover, parts of Kiambu County, including Tola, Kiahuria Shopping Center, Metro, Ngoingwa, Compuera, M-Pesa Academy, Muiri, Albbizia, and nearby customers, will experience maintenance-related power outages.
In Kilifi County, various locations such as Baharini Primary School, Kadzengo, Kitchen King, Mzuri II, Mega Couture, sections of Pwani Oil, My Pasta, Kikambala Posta, parts of Elsek Estate, Bodoi Stage, Ndune Fish Farm, Afriware EPZ, Total Amkeni, Revital EPZ, Madina, Msumarini Madrassa, Safepak, Pride Industries, Jallaram Plastics, and neighboring areas will face power blackouts from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
