Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condemned the Kenya Kwanza administration for the escalating cost of living and persistent claims of depleted government funds.

Addressing a roadside gathering in Embu Town on Tuesday, Kalonzo, accompanied by fellow Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leaders, criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for failing to deliver on its campaign pledges.

Kalonzo accused the President William Ruto-led administration of disregarding the welfare of Kenyans, alleging a blatant violation of human rights by neglecting to address the high cost of living.

Asserting Azimio’s commitment to holding the government accountable for the rising expenses, Kalonzo highlighted the determination of his Kenya Kwanza counterparts to address the issue during their Bomas discussions.

He urged Kenyans and leaders to unite against greed, flawed policies, and corruption, emphasizing his readiness to challenge President Ruto and his administration before 2027.

“I will lead Kenyans who are already fed up with the regime, which thrives on falsehoods and oppresses ordinary citizens, to express their dissatisfaction with the Ruto-led government,” Kalonzo affirmed.

Furthermore, Kalonzo criticized the government’s directive mandating parents to pay school fees through the eCitizen platform, condemning it as a high-handed tactic.

The former Vice President called for a reconsideration of the payment method, advocating for a more consultative and inclusive approach in decision-making processes within the Ministry of Education. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing affordability and accessibility in education.

These statements come as the High Court extended orders on Tuesday, blocking the government’s directive for parents to pay school fees through the eCitizen platform. Justice Chacha Mwita ruled that the government would not be disadvantaged by the extension of the orders.
