“In effect, parties will file all their documents through the e-filing platform; in addition, the parties will be required to avail one hard copy of the documents uploaded for Registry records,” the notice officially stated.

“Following the gazettement of practice directions on Electronic Case Management issued vide Gazette Notice number 2357 dated 4th March 2020 by the Honourable Chief Justice, the Tax Appeal’s Tribunal will fully implement the E-filing System effective February 2024,” as announced by the Judiciary.

As outlined in the notice, parties involved in tax appeal cases will be required to submit all their documents exclusively through the e-filing platform.

Additionally, parties must provide one hard copy of the uploaded documents for Registry records.

To comply with the new system, parties are instructed to sign up for an E-filing account through the provided link: ( https://efiling.court.go.ke/ ). The Judiciary encourages Kenyans to seek guidance from them as the new system comes into effect.

Moreover, a virtual training session on the e-filing process is scheduled for 7th and 8th February 2024, offering participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new procedures.

This development aligns with Chief Justice Koome’s initiative to digitize all court processes in the country.

Under this electronic system, lawyers, police, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and the general public are required to register through a portal to access the Judiciary system.
