Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition, has announced that the anti-government protests that began on Monday will resume every Monday and Thursday beginning next week.
Raila Odinga, speaking to the media on Tuesday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in Nairobi, called yesterday’s demonstrations in Nairobi and other parts of the country “immensely successful,” even as he blamed police for the chaotic and violent scenes.
He also claimed that there was an attempt on his life and that of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka by police who allegedly shot at their vehicles.
He’s also said the following:
“We maintain that IEBC must open the servers and allow an independent international audit that will without doubt prove to Kenyans that brutal Ruto did not win the last elections.”
“Brutal Ruto must stop reconstituting the IEBC unilaterally and packing it with his puppets without the involvement of other stakeholders. We demand that the 4 commissioners who were forced to resign must be reinstated.”
“We call for the boycott of Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank, Radio Africa Media particularly The Star Newspaper who have become enablers and facilitators of this brutal regime. These corporates have become the enemies of the people”
