Raila Odinga’s Azimio coalition held a massive prayer rally at Nairobi’s famous Jevanjee Gardens.
Religious leaders from various denominations dedicated the coalition to God.
The prayers also emphasized peace and a transparent IEBC.
Other leaders present included Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, Wycliffe Oparanya, George Wajackoyah, and a slew of MPs and senators.
Kalonzo Musyoka moved the audience with his speech after mentioning the upcoming visit of American First Lady Jill Biden. She is expected to arrive in the country this week before continuing on to Namibia.
Kalonzo urged Kenyans to show up, show their support, and welcome the American first lady.
He also stated that Kenyans should not forget to inform Jill that they are hungry as a result of the high cost of living.
This statement by the Wiper party’s leader energized the audience.
“We are expecting Jill Biden in the country this week. When she comes, welcome her and don’t forget to tell her that you are hungry,” said the former vice president amid chants from the crowd.
Kalonzo also requested that the Azimio followers keep the peace and avoid chaos.
He insisted that all of the protests will be peaceful.
