On the 14th of January, President William Ruto attended a national prayer assembly at Nyayo stadium, where he responded to Raila Odinga’s daily attacks on Kenya Kwanza’s government.
Speaking via Kenya Digital News, President William Ruto slammed Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja camp for lamenting daily, comparing them to the biblical story of Nehemiah.
According to President William Ruto, the opposition is making unnecessary noises that his government will not be concerned about.
” Wakati Nehemiah alikuwa anajenga ukuta, kulikuwa na watu wawili wenye kiburi. Tobias and mwenzake ambao walisema mbweha akisimama kwenye ukuta utapotomoka wenyewe”, His speech was in a Swahili dialect.
He also attacked Azimio la Umoja for ignoring God’s word, claiming that their bold belief in the deep state had coated them.
” Watu wengi waliodunisha neno la Mungu wakakejeli kanisa la Mungu wakajifanya eti kuna ‘deep state’ mpaka kanisa ikaanza kuogopa. I am happy that the church has come back to the centre of the politics of Kenya”, President Ruto added.
