After realizing what the administration was planning, former prime minister Raila Odinga abruptly postponed the meeting of the Azimio One Kenya Coalition MPs.
The decision to cancel the meeting at the last minute was made, it has been established, as a result of the recent induction of National Assembly members in Nairobi and senators in Nakuru. They both end on Saturday.
The meeting has been postponed to the first day of the coming week, though the exact day has not yet been decided, according to Mr. Oduor Ong’wen, executive director of the ODM Party, who verified the change.
As an implementer, I work. Mr. Ong’wen said, “It is my duty to carry out the leadership’s directives to push things back.”
The battle between Azimio-aligned MPs over who holds which role in the House Committees and the Parliament has been shown to be of great concern to Raila Odinga. He has even gone so far as to ensure that he supplies names of those who are qualified for the position.
The Azimio One Kenya Alliance is pursuing the majority seats in the National Assembly while going for the minority seats in the Senate, although claiming to be the party with the majority there.
