Former UDA vice chairman Kipruto Arap Kirwa has suggested that President-elect William Ruto look at methods to accommodate Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who is associated with the Azimio One Kenya Coalition.
Kirwa stated that Kalonzo has a large following and will assist Ruto balance and increase his support across the country.
“Ruto, as he is today, as a two-legged stool, one in Rift Valley and Mt Kenya but the third leg, is a bit hazy, he did not command a strong following in Western Kenya,” he said.
“If I were him or one of his strategists, I would have almost looked for a way of accommodating Kalonzo.
He has a strong team of more than three governors and senators and more than 25 MCAs.”
Kirwa believes Ruto would not struggle with the narrow margin between him and Raila if he had a large number of voters from the Eastern region.
“He had presence generally in Coast but had he gotten a strong support from Eastern, Kalonzo’s backyard, he wouldn’t need to struggle with the small difference between him and Raila,” he said.
“Politics in Kenya is dynamic,” he continued.
