Francis Atwoli’s Prophecy About DP Ruto did not materialize.

– COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli had already made headlines by announcing that DP Ruto’s name would not appear on the presidential ballot.

DP Ruto’s harshest critic and outspoken trade unionist even begged to God not to let Ruto run in the August elections, citing his administration’s concern of forming the next government.

Wafula Chebukati, the chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has on Saturday cleared DP Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua to run for presidency in the August general elections 

This is in contrary to Francis Atwoli’s earlier statements.

The Deputy President expressed confidence in the IEBC and requested them to conduct free and fair elections in accordance with the Constitution.

The Ruto–Rigathi Gachagua ticket was officially cleared on Saturday, despite COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli’s prediction that deputy president William Ruto would not make it to the presidential ballot.

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli is a strong supporter of Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azmio-One Kenya Coalition.

Kenyans will go to the polls in August to vote for their favourite presidential candidate.

The outcome of the August election is a wait-and-see situation, with the IEBC in charge.
