Three contenders in the Meru gubernatorial contest appear to have a narrow popularity difference in the region.
Governor Kiraitu Murungi , is running for re-election through the Azimio-One Kenya coalition, whereas Mithika Linturi is running under the UDA party.
Mizani Africa conducted opinion polls with a sample size of 1,063 people evenly distributed across Meru County’s nine cоnstituenсies . Telephone interviews were also used.
According to recent opinion polls conducted by Mizani Africa, Mithika Linturi leads with 35.4 %, followed by Kawira Mwangaza with 31.0 % and Kiraitu Murungi with 30.8 %.
According to poll results, 2.4 % are still undecided if the elections were held today.
Other candidates received votes from 0.3 percent of those responded to the survey.
In the senatorial race, incumbent Murungi Kathuri has 66.8% of the vote, followed by Joseph Arimba, who has 18%.
According to Mizani Africa polls, Elizabeth Kairemia leads the women’s representative race with 51.0 %, Edith is second with 24.1 %, and Felicity Biriri is third with 15.4 percent.
Undecided votes are still a key game plan, and candidates should seek to request them in order to win the August 9 elections.
